What is ITIL?
ITIL (the IT Infrastructure Library) is basically a series of documents used to help implement the life cycle framework for IT Service Management. This customizable framework defines how Service Management is implemented within an organization. It is also in harmony with international standards, ISO 20000.
How to set it up?
ITIL is organized into a series of five volumes (books): Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operation and Continuous Service Repair. This in turn is a closed loop feedback system that provides feedback throughout the life cycle area. Volume continues to provide a best practice framework that enables IT Services to be delivered effectively.
